Sensory Bins made easy

Creating Sensory bins:

Start with a base. These are just a few ideas, you can literally use anything for a base.

  • Rice
  • Noodles
  • Dry beans
  • Cereal
  • Water
  • Sand
  • Beads
  • Pom Poms
  • Easter Basket Grass

Add small toys and trinkets. The Dollar Store is a great place to pick this stuff up

  • Erasers
  • Shells
  • Cars
  • Buttons
  • Rocks
  • Decorative beads
  • Plastic flowers

Gather tools that work with your bins.

  • Tongs
  • Measuring Cups
  • Spoons
  • Small Rakes
  • Sifters

Make sure your bins have lids and can be kept out of reach of children. Always supervise children when they use their sensory bins to ensure safety. May items in sensory bins are small and can be a chocking hazard if a child puts them in his/her mouth.

Make clean up easy by playing with bins on plastic table clothe or outside.
